The Peddler Brewery

At the Peddler, we have a ten barrel system with 80 barrels of fermentation capacity.  We began selling beer in 2017 with 12 beers available.  After quickly acquiring demand, we expanded our beer selection to 20 different ales and lagers including local favorites like: Bearded Lady Blonde Ale, Silt Sucker Hazy IPA and several different kettle sours. 

Our beers are available on tap in our restaurant as well as to go in 64oz. Growlers, 32oz. Howlers, and 32oz. Crowlers (cans).  We currently distribute to a number of restaurants and bars across the state with half barrel or 1/6 barrel kegs available.  We will be adding a canning line in the future with more draft accounts added weekly.

Jay Fox Head Brewer
Jay spent his formative years studying chemistry at will and then Marshall University. He started home brewing in 1995 and gave several bottles of home brew to his friend, Drew Hetzer over the years. Little did he know that years later, Drew would approach him about opening a brewery in town. He then studied commercial brewing in Middlebury, Vermont at the American Brewer’s Guild and left a 21 year career in the manufacturing industry to start doing fun stuff. Oliver “Ollie” Bailey Sales Manager
Born in Barboursville, WV, Ollie attended Marshall University before working in the service industry. In 2012, he began working with Drew and Megan Hetzer to open Backyard Pizza & Raw Bar. Once the brewery began production, he learned that side of the business and started helping Jay with production. He currently handles all sales and distribution.
